Of Extendicare, Port Stanley (formerly of Brelus Drive, Dunnville and Amica, Newmarket) has passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2017 in her 105th year with loving family by her side. Beloved wife of the late E.T. (Ted) Summers (1964). Grace was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 26, 1913 to the late Rene and Margaret (Callaghan) Warren and was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by sisters Laura and Evelyn; brother Lorne; step-son Frank; grandson Paul; and nephew Jimmy. She was cherished by her surviving daughters Dorothy (David) Swan of Alliston and Patricia (Ken) Couchman of Port Stanley. “GG” will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Kim (Harry), Michael (Georgia), Jane (Josh), Colin (Elan), Stacey, John, Wayne, Lisa and Aaron. She was much loved by her eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. As the matriarch of her family, Grace was an inspiring role model to three generations. In her business life, she was a successful and award-winning real estate agent in the Hamilton area. A para-liturgical funeral service will be held at BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, 315 Broad St. E., Dunnville on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. and will be followed by interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery. A reception will follow. A memory tree in her name will be planted at Extendicare, Port Stanley. Flowers are gratefully declined but remembrances in her name to a charity of choice will be much appreciated.
