Obituary of Clayton Dickhout

Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville, in his 79th year. Dearly loved husband of Sheila (Woolley). Cherished father of Karen (Lloyd) Vollick, David (Carol), Patti (Dave) Reynolds and Tim (Angela). Devoted and fun grandfather of Adam, Jim, Breanne, Andrew, Macy, David Jr., Maxwell (Astrid), Ethan, Denny, Liam, Alicia; and great-grandchildren Aliyah, and Bijou. Sadly missed by sister Donna, brother Gord, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Duke was a very happy all around good guy. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He touched a lot of lives through his generosity in giving them a place to stay when they were in need. As a result, his "extended family" including Bobby, Donna, Cheryl, and Mike, is very large. Duke was an avid sports fan and really loved the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and Ti-Cats. He was very active in minor hockey along with the Mudcats and Terriers where he also enjoyed his role as a goal judge. He will be missed by many, especially his best friend Glen Smith, the two were always seen together. Friends will be received at BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, 315 Broad St. E., Dunnville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations to Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation would be sincerely appreciated.
