Celebration of Life
Obituary of Robert Osborne Owen
OWEN, Robert – The Owen family has lost its guiding light and loving leader.
Bob left this world, at home and on his own terms, Tuesday, April 2, 2019. His wife of 63 years, Fay, his children Janie and Warren Cutler (Evan Kitchen 2007), Jeffrie and Kathleen Owen, Todd and Carol Owen reluctantly let him go. Bob was the second son of Ellen and Walter Owen and brother to Edward (Ted), all deceased.
Bob treasured many things. Firstly, he loved and cherished all of his family. His children and their spouses. His eight grandchildren, Adam, Torie, Brett, Scott, Ryan, Emma, Christopher and Katie, his eight great grandchildren, Hayden, Zachary, Charlotte, Ben, Charlie, Claire, Samantha and Logan were the centre of his universe and a constant source of pride and joy. He appreciated the value of friendship, both giving and receiving.
The village of Wainfleet has lost a loving son, dedicated volunteer and cheerleader. Christ Church Anglican was his second home. Marshville Heritage Festival on Labour Day weekend was high on his list. He enjoyed working with the staff at the Owl Foundation in Vineland. Many other organizations over his lifetime; Wainfleet Minor Hockey, E.L. Crossley Marching Band, (where he was “Uncle Bobby”), Boy Scouts, Ventures and others, were all part of his commitment to caring.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard Minor Funeral Home, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville, On. A brief church service will be held at Christ Church, Wainfleet on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 2p.m., followed by a Celebration of Bob’s Life at 3p.m. in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to a charity of your choice.
